Fort Worth, Texas – July 13, 2021 – Schumacher Electric Corporation, established in 1947, a global leader of automotive aftermarket power conversion products including battery chargers, jump starters and portable power offerings, is moving its headquarters from the Chicago-area to Fort Worth, Texas, and is now hiring in the DFW metroplex. Conveniently located near DFW Airport with foreign-trade zone status, the new headquarters and state-of-the-art distribution facility enables company growth and positions Schumacher to meet the automotive aftermarket industry’s rapidly evolving needs.
Leading the charge is Schumacher’s new chief executive officer, Mickey Leech. “Delivering innovation to the market in the traditional aftermarket power categories while solidifying our authority in the emerging electric vehicle charging arena are key parts of our growth vision for the company,” he said. Leech brings to Schumacher his considerable experience successfully growing MTD Products through his innovative approaches to new product development, international manufacturing, distribution, and overall leadership acumen.
“We decided on a one-distribution center model a few years ago, and selected Texas for our facility,” Leech continued. “Texas is corporate friendly, and a very desirable location for a one-distribution model. We were fortunate to be able to build our headquarters in the same geography. We’re excited to have our company headquartered in the Lone Star State and look forward to adding new talent from the flourishing DFW-area.”
The 30,000-square-feet open concept office space along with a more than 300,000-square-foot warehouse, allows for growth and collaboration with leadership, engineering, customer service, IT, HR, marketing and finance teams in one location. The new facility has an abundance of features, including in-house research and development, an engineering lab and a garage for real-life simulation testing. With the move expected to be completed this summer, the company is looking for skilled workers to join its growing team.
“We are pleased our new facility offers a collaborative and productive work environment where team members are set up for success every day,” said Shantel Bill, chief legal and human resources officer at Schumacher Electric Corporation. “The DFW- area is ideal to attract great talent for both our distribution facility and our headquarters. The area has fantastic educational institutions that produce exceptional talent to feed into our growing teams.”
Schumacher Electric Corporation is known for industry-leading innovation, an unwavering commitment to quality, and providing feature-rich products that represent a remarkable value and price. For nearly 75 years, Schumacher has been powering lifestyles with a legacy centered on delivering product excellence and exceptional service to customers with a broad range of needs and experience levels.
